Where did you get the idea for the Weaver Series?
I like the idea of believing in something so strongly that it can come true. In addition, I think the idea of a “do-over” appeals to all of us!
What is a Weaver?
Not a vampire, not a werewolf, and not a fairy. Oh, and not a witch either. Weavers are immortal and exist to make life more interesting, fair, or…unfair. Have you ever had something happen that seemed impossible? Maybe a Weaver made you do it!
How long have you been writing?
I can’t remember not writing. It has always been my passion.
Who were your influences?
My dad was my strongest influence. He was a writer as well. He used to recite Edgar Allen Poe and Samuel Taylor Coleridge to me when I was little and he was the greatest storyteller! It wasn’t until I was older that I realized he was reciting his favorite works.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have tons of favorites but a few are V.C. Andrews, Cassandra Clare, Holly Black, and Charlaine Harris.
What kind of music do you like?
I have very eclectic taste in music. I love jazz, blues, and particularly bluegrass – but having two sons that are both insanely great guitarists, I find that they influence my interests too. I like, Poets of the Fall, Mumford and Sons, and just about anything funky from the 80’s.
Who is your favorite character to write?
I like them all but if I had to pick a favorite, that would have to be Kess.
