Better Than Us

Who else is watching "Better Than Us" on Netflix?  Arisa is one cool synthetic. I'm hooked! Who wouldn't want a cutting-edge robot looking after their family?

The tech is well thought out, with plenty of  futuristic tidbits sprinkled in. I personally found the "mundane" synthetics a little creepy compared to Arisa with her empathy-laden coding. They did a great job showing the juxtaposition of human emotions and AI.

Great characters and the storyline takes some nice twists and turns. Paulina Andreeva is so convincing in her role as the robot and Cronos (the evil Bot Corporation) just has to go down! I can't wait to see where this goes.

If you love a good sci-fi story with robots, I highly recommend this one.

Chasing Emma

Hi Crickets,
Chasing Emma is now available for free for a limited time on Wattpad and who doesn't like a good faerie tale? **********************************************
An urban faerie tale with Southern charm
Emma is a faerie on the run from a bad human husband. All she wanted was to fall in love with the mortal man that she watched from a distance. How could she possibly know how bad that decision would turn out to be? At least there's one good thing that came from her decision...and there's no way she's going to let anything happen to change that.
She's tired, but fierce. One thing she's sure of, she's not about to let him get his hands on their daughter.
Passing as a human and hiding her abilities to keep from being discovered isn't easy. She's broke and exhausted but determined.
Emma soon finds herself in Salt Bend, Missouri. She gets a job as a waitress in a café. He's getting closer to finding her, but she may have more protection than she realizes. Read Chasing Emma

Cover Reveal!

I've been working on something new and it's been a lot of fun to play with this new storyline. I've always loved faeries, and imagining what that world would be like. Better still, what it would be like if a faerie crossed over into the Mortal Realm. I threw in a Southern setting and came out with Chasing Emma. An urban faerie tale with Southern charm.

So here's a little tidbit about my latest work in progress:

Emma is a faerie on the run from a bad human husband. All she wanted was to fall in love with the mortal man that she watched from a distance. How could she possibly know how bad that decision would turn out to be? At least there’s one good thing that came from her decision…and there’s no way she’s going to let anything happen to change that.

She’s tired, but fierce. One thing she’s sure of, she’s not about to let him get his hands on their daughter.

Passing as a human and hiding her abilities to keep from being discovered isn’t easy. She’s broke and exhausted but determined.

Emma soon finds herself in Salt Bend, Missouri. She gets a job as a waitress in a café. He’s getting closer to finding her, but she may have more protection than she realizes.

Chasing Emma is coming soon...and now back to writing.

Now available on Wattpad, this is a perfect short summer read. And it's free!

Told from the perspective of a synthetic human, designed for release to the general public.
This is a side story to the Simp Series, available on Amazon. Helena is a Common Jane Model 725, but you can call her, Hell. Everyone else does. Unclaimed, she takes what she can. Working as an assassin, she's paid in minimal black-market code patches and upgrades...upgrades that keep her thinking like a "Simp." That's what most humans call them following the famous, "Synthetics making life simple for all" campaign.

Read Common Jane If you enjoy, don't forget to vote for it!

Making Pickles. Not Writing.

There's this weird thing that happens every time I think I'll sit down and write.  I get this sudden urge to do a million other things. I might rearrange the furniture, or try to create origami out of used aluminum foil, or make pickles.  I guess that you could say this is a part of my creative process.  I have to dance around the chair, and the keyboard until my brain (or the characters that live there) says, "it's time!"

Look how long I have been away from this blog...whew!  That's a lot of pickles.  Yikes!  Okay, I will try to be better at posting here.  In the meantime...the pickles are great. So are the stories that are in the works. ;)
